This 'medicine' drum is no ordinary drum. Birthed by me in the old way, with goat skin stretched across a wooden pine hoop, this sacred instrument carries the resonance of two ancient lineages. Rooted in Native American tradition, its heartbeat echoes the pulse of the Earth, the heart beat of the land, the rhythm of ancestors, the breath of Spirit in all things. Yet when its first tone rose, it did not just echo the earth, it spoke the name Ganesha.... keeper of sacred truths, remover of obstacles, protector of the path, bearer of deep wisdom.

When you hear it, may it clear your path, when you touch it, may it ground your being, when you sit with it, may it whisper truths that only silence can hold.

This sacred drum carries Earth’s Heartbeat and Spirit’s breath. It grounds, it clears, it calls. A bridge between worlds, between root and rise, silence and sound. Offered with reverence, shared in service, blessed by Ganesha, held by Spirit.

This NATIVE AMERICAN style drum is lovingly hand-crafted and blessed in Australia, using Goat Hide with a pine tree hoop frame.

The drum is laced with strong pseudo sinew, allowing it further to weather various climatic conditions and still hold its tone.

The size being the large 15" X 3" (38cm X 7cm).

This DRUM has been lovingly hand crafted & blessed in Australia in a native American style & laced with the MEDICINE WHEEL weave representing the four directions, the four seasons, the four coloured people of MOTHER EARTH and the four states of our being etc. and each with their direct connection to Source... GREAT SPIRIT. The included beater is natural wood & leather or felt. Drum Care instructions are also included.

This drums strong personality shines through in this artistic perfection. With its wild & raw energy, its contrast colourings and natural fine shadings, it seems to smile through a UNIVERSE of its own making and invites our eyes to JOURNEY over it! ( allow this mystery through the eyes of the beholder!) The shadowy shadings are however both unique & beautiful, & these colours & markings truly 'tell their own story'. A totally NATURAL & unpainted skin with its pigmentations & shadings, allows for the purity & celebration of the deer, that made this drum possible, in its natural beauty & untouched form, to shine through & be enjoyed.

The versatile nature of Native Drums skins, invite us to play them in several ways and not necessarily just with the traditional Drum Beater. With both hands holding the frame and finger tapping, or just one hand, cupped hand, flat hand, finger tips or full finger striking while holding the drum at the back, standing or sitting or sitting crossed legged with the drum tilted, and also straddled between the knees and used as a bongo style drum. It can be held with the natural handle formed by the lacing on the back and other hand used to play, with or without the traditional beater of course …a drum for all reasons and seasons.

This is a creative loving instrument for healing & for connection to spirit & soul. In Native traditions it is believed that the drum is a living thing & the spirit of the animals & trees of which the drum is made, live in the drum. When a drum finds a partner , it is a life-long relationship. Drumming can provide solace, relief from anger, courage when afraid, unites drummer with all life form - a single heartbeat restoring balance & harmony, which can heal & soothe the mind & reach our very soul .
